1958 801 sos

Hello All,
wanted to update you on my progress and maybe attach some pictures if I can.
Saturday the 21st I drove the tractor after doing a more or less cosmetic restore.
mechanically it was not in bad shape it did have a elect. short that would make it stop back fire and then start back up.
I have hade the tractor about 30 years and never hade to do any work on it but it was kind of banged up and the paint looked bad , on that note I found that it was painted gold apparently when it was new and I could find no serial number on it and it lookes like it never hade one , my resurch tells me it is a early 1958 mod.
The sheet metal lookes like it is from a early tractor and isen't like the others I have seen ,might be one of the frist SCS modsels or someone changed the metal .
Now some advice if you put a new decal on the shifter face you don't need to take the hole thind appart , you can remove the left side cover and put it on that way or you can do what i did and make a mess that I diden't think I would get fixed .
Jim
