Existing pump on Case 646 is probably shot (no seal, oil runs out)

Have been quoted $400 for aftermarket replacement.

This a good deal? Or is there a pump source I don't know about?

Is the pump in decent enough shape to be rebuilt? In most cases a rebuilt pump is the cheaper route if you have a good local hydraulics shop or your local dealer has one.

I talked to the CIH implement dealer--he wasn't interested, said he'd have to find someplace to work on it (??).

The only shop I know of that works on the Case/Ingersoll doesn't overhaul, just replaces.

I don't know of any hydraulic shops in southeast MN--if anyone has a favorite shop they could direct me to, I would appreciate it. Or, if there is a source for parts and tech info, I would attempt the overhaul myself.

I do a lot of repairs--just don't stand to close the first time I fire it up (should have seen my wife's oven after replacing the gas valve)
