We have been struggling with the hit the construction industry is taking locally so we thought we would stock up the freezers this year in case it gets worse. We will sell enough to replace our seed money we hope. We are considering opening a farmers market so getting use to taking care of large gardens will do us some good anyway.
Planting is fun.....weeding...not so much....lol

I hear you on the weeding, but you still didn't say how big your garden is.

I don't know. I will have to measure it. I just left enough room to turn the tractor around at the ends. I didn't put out any certain amount.
I think the fence post are 10' apart. I will measure it later and let you know.

Nice garden, did you plant your Pac Choy in April? I planted ours the last of Feb and most of it went to long stems w/ flowers? Never tried to grow Pac Choy or Bac Choy before. But it tastes good if you use the tender parts. Our dosen't look like the stores? Rick

That's pretty big for just a garden.

Yes April on the bok choy.

It flooded. Were trying to save what we can. It has never flooded there before but we never had 12 inches of rain in a 30 day period before.

It makes me sick to look at it now. We are trying to get it weeded now that we don't sink up to our knees in the mud when we go out there.

Field corn is tasseling here already. What a strange year.

Looks great. What are you using for pest control?

You don't deal with ants, caterpillars or any other pests that eat your plants?

Pick em off by hand when we see them. Tomato worms are a real challenge they blend in well.
You can spot fresh excrement and track them though. We lose some cabbage to the worms. That seems to be our biggest problem.
Wife dose not abide chemicals. I grow round up beans and she gets that, but not in her garden.
What other voodoo she might be using I have no knowledge of......lol

I wish we would have grown a small one this year. Ours flooded. It rained here for forty days and forty nights...well it seemed like it. We were getting rain 2 to 4 inches at a time. Very unusual for this area. We are harvesting somethings still but weed control was next to imposable with all of that rain. For almost all of late May and early June you sunk to your knees in the mud when you tried to go into the garden.

Well you could bottle some up and send it to me my corn is in bad need of some! And my water bill is getting bigger and bigger. I never thought I would take faster showers and start buying paper plates that you never have to wash to save water for a garden.
