belt drive

My garden tractor is belt driven (troy bolt ltx 1842). After I installed the Johnny bucket I noticed that my belt drive wants to continue going forward or reverse. Despite removing my foot off the Accelerator and even won't stop if I press the brake.

I had to shift my weight to relax the rear wheel just so I can shift to neutral.

I'm still waiting to order the wheel weights. I do have chains on the tires, but I'm curious if the front addition of the bucket a coincidence to this new failure or direct cause and will the wheel weights make a difference?

How much weight or brand shall I get?

If its a granny failure or belt failure how shall I diagnose further?

I think, since it seems to have started the problem after the addition of the bucket, you may have accidently put tension on the drive belt, some where.Check to make sure the bucket's mounts aren't causing a bind on the drive belt,or a distortion of the tractor's frame. It's possible, that,if the bucket has a bar,or a lever under the frame it could be interfering with the belt tension,or the forward/rearward control rods/linkages.
