Advice

Hello to all:

I am new to this forum and seeking your advice. I am trying to gain as much knowledge as I can about a Troybilt that I have. Here is my info.

MY SN#:356908
Engine:
Model #: K161T
Spec. #: 281271j
Serial #: 9286636

I know that it has a 7 HP Kohler...but what year was it made...what model is it...etc. I will be restoring it, so I need all the advice I can get and all the clean-up, prep, and painting help I can get.....i.e. sanding? priming? painting? proper color?

I'm guessing it's a tiller.

I saw where you asked this on a previous post and stated it was a tiller. I'm pretty sure it's a 78 Horse II, ....Good piece for sure....

Sorry....it is a tiller! The Model # is for the engine....the 7 hp Kohler. Why is it designated as a Horse "II"? Is that just a category separating different years and options?
Is there a thread that can help me with the cleaning, primimg, and painting issues of the restoration? I can't post pics just yet as my camera bit the dust and I am searching for another at this time. I will post some when I locate a different camera. Any advice or recommendations on what order I should clean and paint the pieces or just take it apart and have at it?
